Where can you actually drive your own car on track in Arizona? For most Valley drivers, the answer is the Firebird complex in Chandler, which also houses Radford Racing School. Beyond that are Podium Club in Casa Grande, Inde Motorsports Ranch in Willcox, and Musselman Honda Circuit in Tucson. Arizona Motorsports Park, near Litchfield Park, is no longer a racetrack. This guide covers what each of these Arizona race tracks is, who runs open events there, and how the 2026–27 season fits around the summer heat.

Firebird Motorsports Park and Radford Racing School (Chandler)
Same place, new name
If you've seen older references to Wild Horse Pass Motorsports Park or Firebird International Raceway, this is the same facility. In August 2023, Drag Illustrated reported that a collaboration with Radford Racing School would keep all of the park's tracks open, including the NHRA drag strip. The park sits on the Gila River Indian Reservation. That December, Dragzine reported the rename to Firebird Motorsports Park, "an ode to its former glory days as Firebird International Raceway."
Courses and organizers
Firebird's tracks page lists three road courses, along with a drag strip, drifting and an off-road course. Its event calendar refers to the road courses as the East Track and West Track. For its September event, NASA Arizona flagged the West track as having "all new pavement".
At the time of writing, the Firebird calendar lists these open-lapping events:
- NASA Arizona on the East Track, October 24–25
- XCEL Track Days on the West Track, October 25
- Pro Autosports on the East Track, October 31
- PTO Track Days on the East Track, November 7
- NASA Arizona on the West Track, November 14–15
Confirm dates, formats and run groups with each organizer before you plan around them.
Radford Racing School
Radford is the school "formerly known as the Bondurant High Performance Driving School". It operates from Gate #3 at the same address and describes its track as 1.6 miles with 15 turns. Its programs include a racing school, performance driving and defensive driving. The school says Dodge supplies all of its track vehicles, so it's an option if you want instruction before you take your own car out. Drivers need a valid license. NASA Arizona's November event runs on Firebird West on Saturday and Radford on Sunday.
Podium Club (Casa Grande)
Podium Club is a membership club with a 2.32-mile, 15-turn circuit and "meaningful elevation changes". Membership tiers include individual, family and corporate, and the club's site lists a Track Day Pass along with partner track day providers. It's a regular NASA Arizona venue. At the time of writing, NASA's schedule lists Podium Club on December 5–6, 2026, with HPDE, time trial, time attack, racing and a competition school. The January 29–31, 2027 South West Speed Festival is race, time trial and time attack only, with no HPDE. Podium Club is also listed for March 20–21, 2027.
Inde Motorsports Ranch (Willcox)
Inde is a members' club in Arizona's high desert. Its 2.75-mile, 21-turn course has more than 200 feet of elevation change and can be split into two separate courses running at once. The ranch says it supports more than 40 configurations. It has member garages, trackside garage pads with space for overnight stays, and a vacation package, which is useful if you're making a weekend of it.
Outside organizers do run events there. ProAutoSports held a two-day event at Inde on September 5–6, 2026, with HPDE for street cars and an orientation for first-time participants. NASA Arizona lists Inde for May 1–2, 2027.
Musselman Honda Circuit (Tucson)
Musselman Honda Circuit, run by the Southern Arizona Kart Club, describes a 1,264-meter track with 13 turns. It holds monthly track days for sports cars, sport bikes, drifting and karts, plus a Sports Car Day that includes time attack. At the time of writing, it lists Sports Car Days on November 8 and December 12, 2026, and closures for training in late October and early November. Its site warns that weekend hours change between summer and winter, so check before you drive down.
Arizona Motorsports Park is closed as a racetrack
If you find older Arizona Motorsports Park (AMP) events online, the track itself is no longer an option. NASA Arizona's page for its April 5–6, 2025 event says AMP "sold to new ownership, but they will NOT continue to operate AMP as a racetrack," and calls it the last event the club will ever run there. Older listings, such as the PCA Arizona Region's October 2021 season opener at AMP, are history now.
Who runs HPDE and track days in Arizona
NASA Arizona publishes a full season calendar across most of these venues. Its HPDE program runs from Group 1 through Group 4. Group 1 drivers get a certified in-car instructor and classroom sessions at no extra cost, and NASA says the car can be bone stock.
Track day companies appear on venue calendars. Right now that means XCEL Track Days, Pro Autosports and PTO Track Days at Firebird, and ProAutoSports at Inde.
The PCA Arizona Region's public event calendar currently lists autocross at Phoenix Raceway in Avondale on November 28–29, 2026 and January 16–17, 2027. It lists no driver education days at the time of writing, so ask the region directly about its plans.
BMW owners will also find the Roadrunner Chapter, which calls itself "the official BMW Car Club of America chapter for most of Arizona."
When to go: the season and the heat
Arizona's track season follows the weather. NASA Arizona's schedule lists no events in July or August 2026, and none from June through August 2027. Its late-May 2027 Firebird date is listed as morning-only. Its past events include a July 2023 entry that simply reads "No AZ events – too hot!"
At the time of writing, the rest of NASA Arizona's 2026–27 calendar looks like this:
| Dates | Venue | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Oct 24–25, 2026 | Firebird East | HPDE, TA, TT, race |
| Nov 14–15, 2026 | Firebird West (Sat), Radford (Sun) | Split venues |
| Dec 5–6, 2026 | Podium Club | Includes competition school |
| Jan 29–31, 2027 | Podium Club | South West Speed Festival, no HPDE |
| Feb 27–28, 2027 | Chuckwalla Valley Raceway, California | Crossover with the SoCal region |
| Mar 20–21, 2027 | Podium Club | HPDE, TA, TT, race |
| Apr 17–18, 2027 | To be confirmed | Track not yet confirmed |
| May 1–2, 2027 | Inde Motorsports Ranch | HPDE, TA, TT, race |
| May 29, 2027 | Firebird East | Morning only |

Even within the season, early-fall and late-spring days get hot. Bring more water and shade than you think you'll need, and keep an eye on oil and coolant temperatures, especially in a tuned turbocharged car. Our heat soak article covers that side.

Pick an organizer and a date first, then read that event's tech requirements. If it's your first event, our first track day prep checklist covers brake fluid, pads, tires, wheel torque and what tech inspectors look for.
When you'd like a second set of eyes on the car, our race prep service covers brake and cooling checks, fluid and safety inspections, and suspension and alignment setup for track use. Track tires and alignment fall under wheel and tire services. If you're planning hardware before next season, start with performance upgrades. Call ahead with your event date, or request an appointment, and we'll start with a look at the car.
